Following Pokémon Resets Location After Battle

Hi, I'm getting a weird minor issue with Following Pokémon. After finishing a battle event, it seems to reset to be behind my character instead of keeping its position.

Note: This does NOT happen with random encounters in the tall grass. This only happens with the events, both of them.
